Starting BBBB next week on whatever day I feel like it, updating every 3 days as opposed to 3 days a week.
Cringemore v.7. up in 1 or 2 days. [looks so much better] RLBL3 retrospective will probably be posted coinciding because the blog format isn’t some stupid 2 column thing that it is now. Also I might rewrite it because it is actually terribly unstructured and terrible. It would get an 96% in high school English because high school English is a fucking joke. Juxtaposition everywhere.
Thought of the day: Is it worse to have straight up terrible dreams, or really good dreams that usually result in waking up incredibly disappointed with reality.
Good game, hype train is going disappoint a fuck-tonne of people though. A lot of people are saying that’s it’s redefining a genre when I would say that the MMO genre isn’t even really defined.
WoW is basically a Frankenstein monster of a game that basically consists of multiple facets from multiple other genres and has been deviating from the the ‘massively multiplayer’ aspect of an MMO ever since the initial purpose of WoW was discarded. (Vanilla WoW’s main purpose was this: Explore Azeroth, kill dragons occasionally if you feel up to the challenge. That’s it; Players have redefined it because they took the game too seriously and created a faux competitive environment through raiding, and later, PvP, which wasn’t in the game until enough people demanded it because they needed to compensate for the lack of size of their penises.)
If anything, GW2 is taking the first steps to properly entering the fray, embracing the capabilities of an “MMO”, the simple idea of MANY people playing in a persistent, online world, TOGETHER as opposed to this 25 man group, separate instance, weekly lock-out shit that Blizz calls a community. Seriously, most people only see their guilds on raid nights to do content that they’ve been doing for the last year. [ICC, and now it would seem DS if MoP doesn’t come out any time soon - This, after saying they were planning to get content out faster; What the hell Blizz? Come on now.]
It’s not a huge revolutionary change, more like, taking the terribly low standards of what MMO’s are today and fixing all the little things to take them up to where they should be.
WoW == Facebook game. Not joking.
[Recorded some stuff, but turns out rabbits are immune to knock-back, which is ridiculous, so probably not worth uploading]
I think I’m spending more time fiddling with coding my website than actually drawing nowadays. A TERRIBLE SHAME.
The end of RLBL3 and “retrospective” blog post (written today) will be going up on Saturday. (“retrospective”? I think I’m using the wrong word here)
Not sure if BBBB on Monday. Might throw up a ‘cover image’ instead.
"Dick move bro", you say. Yes. Indeed.
I’ll be spending the weekend dicking around in the GW2 beta. I’ve been meaning to do a few single page comics on that, similar to the TERA one I did. (but that actually took no effort seeing as how two of the three frames were 99% a copy paste.)
So maybe. I’ve had the same 3 ideas for a while now too.
Speaking of which, I’ve had the same joke in my head for about 3 years now, but haven’t gathered the skill necessary to pull it off in a visual arts format. I swear to god, if someone does it before I do, Ima flip TWO tables.
I was thinking about how GPS is being used for ‘Zombies, Run!’ in a game type app thing, that you could take the general essence of a Pokemon game but change one mechanic: Have the ‘wild Pokemon appearing in tall grass’ based on physical walking and have the Pokemon that appeared determined by what geographical location you were currently in.
So if you decided to take a walk in a city type environment your iphone type device would randomly trigger a Ratata or Pidgey battle whereas if you were walking along a beach you’d encounter a bunch of Magikarp and Tentacools etc. If you were to take it a step further, the mapping of Pokemon would be on a global scale so you’d have specific Pokemon in South America and they would differ from the ones in China for example. Of course if you don’t get out much, or aren’t some sort of hot shot, world travelling billionaire with a private jet, you’re probably going to end up like youngster Joey with 6 Ratatas in your party.
I think this is probably a better idea than the current isometric tile based tactics game that they’re going with in the current season of games (Pokémon Conquest / Pokémon + Nobunaga’s Ambition). So there you go Nintendo.
